Got up around 6am and starting packing up. Packed and heading out of VFW by 6:45am. Stopped at Bob Evan's for breakfast.  On the road by 8am. Decided to ride a bike trail. Sorry I did, was going to save me 5 miles but ended being a tougher route then expected.  Small gravel trail some packed some not. With all my gear was only riding 6-7 miles per hour. Riding on this trail about 20 miles.  Finally came to a state route so ended up taking it and rode a total of 42 miles today.  That is the most ridden so far on this journey.  Staying at another Michigan state campground.  Spending 2 nights. I have ridden 3 days in a row. Head out Tuesday for Mackinaw City. Will have about a 50 mile ride. Worst case Pam can pick me up drive to Mackinaw City. She her Daughter Heather and my niece Maddee coming up to hang out a couple days. Love when a plan comes together. Tired so calling it a night. Good night God Bless

Today started a little early. Woke up around 5:30am. Looked at my weather map and said rain about 7am. Packed up my gear and started out. Couple miles down the road I stopped for a cup of coffee.  Within a 1/2 hr thunder and lightning.  Found a building being renovated with a good size overhang.  Hung out the for about 1 hr. Storm passed headed out. I was warned of a couple rolling hills. Let me tell you it was more then a couple. Almost 20 miles of rolling hills.  The last 13 miles was mostly downhill!! Got to the VFW in Alpeana and the place they first told me to camp would not be very secure and quiet.  After sitting and talking with a couple members I was able to camp in there fenced in backyard! Larry the head guy here unlocked the back gate so k can leave in the morning and lock up when I leave. Chris the bartender and John and Jerry made sure Larry came back to unlock the gate. John and his wife Val bought pizza for us and John was my sponsor so I could have a c

Left Tawas Michigan about 8:30 this morning.  Great day to ride. Wind was at my back and 30 some miles to ride. Got to Harrisville around 12:30. Rode in to state park there. Talked with gentlemen at the counter about a campsite.  He told me they were full and did not have anything for me. I told him I was on a bicycle and the state of Michigan if you were riding a bicycle they had to make room for me. He disagreed and sent me to the head ranger station.  When I got there they were eager to find me a campsite.  They set me up in a common area . Electric and water not far from where I'm at. I was very happy with the helping hand they extended to me.  Got set up charging my phone looking out at the lake! What a great day! I am blessed to be riding. Thank God for kind people. Good night God Bless

Just rested the rest of the day. Heading out  tomorrow 30 some mile ride.  Looking to be around Harrisville Michigan. Slowly working my way to Mackinaw then to Leland.  Arrive Mackinaw 30th. Survived all the rain last night. Got up early and packed up. Headed out around 8am. Riding to Tawas Michigan. Just a little over 30 miles away. Riding to East City Park to camp. When I got to the park they tell me RV only. So I head  up the road and find a small motel. Bambi Motel. Reasonably priced so spending 2 nights here. Have ridden 30 more miles a day for 3 days.  I did have a headache last night. Woke feeling good. Slowly building up my stamina to ride more miles. Heading to Harrisville Michigan on Friday.  Looking forward to continue to ride. Good night God Bless

Pam drove me out of town of Bay City.  Said our good byes and I headed out. Looking to ride to Standish and try to stay at the VFW about 27 miles. When I got there they were closed and moved. So I decided to ride to the next town about 6 miles north was Omer. Stopped for lunch and after I came out the skies looked like rain.  So there was a camp ground 1 1/2 miles away so I went there got my tent up and started raining, lightning and thunder. Perfect timing. I will spend the here and head to Tawas Michigan tomorrow. Dealing with  a slight headache.  As long as the rain holds off till the evening it will be perfect. Good night God Bless

Headed out today to Bay City. Pam drove in last night . Spent the night then she drove all my gear to Bay City.  I rode the 37 miles with a 10-20 mph headwind. The ride went well overall.  Some places were still with out power. Pam got us a room at the comfort inn. Finally got all my clothes washed and my equipment charged for tomorrow.  Will have a 30 mile ride tomorrow.  Will be in Standish Michigan  tomorrow.  Looking for a place to stay. Trying to contact VFW. Hopefully they call back. Calling it a night. Good night God Bless
Arrived yesterday at Genesse- Otter Campground.  Got here around noon after dealing with roads that were getting graded. Rode almost all of it but at the last hill it was to sandy to ride. So I had to push my bike the last 50 yards. After that the ride went well. So I got my tent set up and since I was spending 2 nights I put in all the stakes because of a chance of rain! Glad I did because rain came with severe wind. My tent was shaking alot. Heard a woman yelling , I looked out and a tree had fallen on there camper and truck. People were saying there children were inside so a bunch of us went running over. We were looking for a way in when the dad said he got them all out. No one got injured. Thank God  that was scary  and everyone was ok. So we lost power at the campground so no electricity and no water. Most campers left that night or first thing Sunday.  Still no power as of 8 pm. I have not been able to blog do to no internet connection and no way to keep phone charge. I was ab

Joe drove me down the road a couple miles to get me off the busy road I would of had to ride first thing in the morning with no shoulder.  My ride went well even tho a little hot. One of the streets I was supposed to turn down had a bridge out. I ride down it anyway to see if I could get around it. That rude down the mile to the bridge was good, but when I found out there was no way around the ride back up hill was tough.  The detour added about 3 maybe 4 miles but I did alot of riding on a bike path. Beautiful ride saw a few wild turkeys on my way. Arrived at Martha and Tim's around 2pm.Martha is the sister of my brother Ted's wife Denise. When I got here Tim got me set up with my room and place to shower. After shower sat and talked with there children Sam and Jack. Sam said she will be 14 soon. Jack is 10. Tim got pizza for dinner and some fruit. After dinner Martha got home we went to Jack's baseball game.  If they won they would of playing for the state tittle.
