Kilgore Idaho
Yesterday got up at 5:30 am. Packed up our clothes and sleeping bags. Had our breakfast on the road by 7am. 45° morning to start the day. Pam and I started out together but she could not make it past 30 miles. For not having much riding time she has done great!
I headed out to finish the route and the last 20 miles or so was up hill. Talk about a tough ride. Some times I think it would go faster if I did not stop and take pictures. The scenery is just so beautiful that I have to stop. Made all 60 miles yesterday! Wish I had more time to ride before this ride.
Got up at 4:45 to start our morning of packing and eating before heading out. Started out at 6 am to shuttle us 16 miles so we did not have to ride on a gravel rode that far. They shuttled our bikes the night before so trying to find your bike among 400 bikes to a little time. Got our bikes but had to put air in Pam's back tire. The first 2 rest area were 15 miles apart. Every time we head out they tell us to ride with someone do to Grizzly Bears! Thank God we did not see any our whole ride. The 3rd rest stop was 28 miles away. The wind picked up and started to rain when we got to the 3rd rest area. Decide to stop there. Total 58 miles today. A lot of people sagged backed to Yellowstone. Time we got back to Yellowstone blowing very hard and raining! Rode to the car loaded bikes drove back to base to pick up all our gear.
What a great ride over all!
Pam rode 58 today. Amazed she was able to do that.
Calling it a night. Heading to Missoula Montana tomorrow to Adventure Cycling Headquarters. Visit here the to Glacier National Park.
Good night
God Bless
