Pappy Smith's Adventure Continues

Did not get a chance to blog last night. We spent the day touring the Roman Viaduct. It was amazing the technology they had back then to build such an elaborate systems. Again beautiful structures! I am blessed to be here seeing all this. So different from the U S. Everything seems to have been here forever. We been hiking about 8 miles a day. Today we head to Barcelona Spain.  Make 1 more stop for a Castle tour I think before Spain. Think we get in a bicycle tour in Spain!!!! So pumped for this. Miss my bike! Had to get up early and leave to Avignon today.. On the road at 6:30am. 1/2 hrs bus ride to the train. Sat for 2 1/2 hrs for the train. Loaded train 9:30ish and headed out. About 2 hrs or soon the train. Soon has we got here took a outside tour of the Popes Palace. We broke for lunch and we headed out with  our group to find a place to eat. Today we stopped for hamburger and fries. After lunch had sometime to shop. Bought some wine. Maybe to bring home if it last that long. Meet to take tour of the inside of the Palace. Took about 2 hrs to walk thru. What a magnificent place. After the Palace we went to dinner. Had Veal Meatballs and rice. Small salad then a eclair with cream. Walked to bus after dinner to drive to hotel on outskirts of Avignon. Settled in for 2 nights then to Spain. Posting pictures! Good night God Bless

Got up this morning and headed to the Eiffel Tower. After getting there they told  us it was closed for routine security.  Time we walked around took pictures came back to get in line. We were one of the 1st cars up to the second level to catch next car to the top. I did not go all  the way to the top. I stayed on the second level every else went to the top. Still beautiful from the second level. Everyone had a good time. After we went and had a nice lunch. After lunch took the group shopping. Stopped at the site where Lady Diana was killed and also where the bombing happened last week. Did a lot of walkiing again today. Over 8 miles of walking. Leave I the morning to Avignon. Spend 2 nights there. Calling it a night! God Bless

Today was a busy day. Started our day with a bus tour around Paris. About a 3 hr or so tour. Left us out at the Louvre. We had a couple hours to walk around and eat before going in. Once we got in WOW. Could of spent days walking around in there. Only my 2 museum I've been to. The first easy just a couple weeks ago in Germany. That was beautiful but this is something that I can't put into words. I was totally amazed. The building it self is art work. I catch myself staring at these painting in awe. We had to push thru at a quick pace. I need to pay more attention to who the artist are. After the Louvre we spent a couple hours walking around. Had a chance to purchase things if we wanted. Bought a couple bottles of wine for Tony and I. We meet up with the rest of the group for dinner. Pot roast with mashed potatoes. Dessert was some type of chocolate pie. Not a bad dinner. 13 of us took a boat ride down the river Seine. About an hour ride. Got to take a couple good pictures

Arrived in Paris about 10:30am. Waited at the airport for our guide about an hour. Meet another group at the airport waiting for our guide also. There was a mix up in the schedule. They had a bus to take us to the hotel. When we got to the hotel not enough rooms for everyone. Got one room and put our bags in it. Meet downstairs and walked to subway to go to Notre Dame. What a beautiful church!! Waited in line 45 minutes may be.  Very much worth the wait. Walked around looking at the town. Doing a guided tour tomorrow. Very tired!! Good night God Bless
