Pappy Smith's Adventure Continues

Got up this morning and Martha  made pancakes and sausage for breakfast. After breakfast Martha, Pete and I went for a 12 mile bike ride today around White Rock Lake. Felt good to finally ride after surgery. After our ride Pete and Martha took me to Fort Worth Stockyards.  Spent the day walking thru town. Forgot where we had lunch. After lunch watched cattle drive thru town. Walked over to a restaurant Joe T Garcias. This is a beautiful restaurant.  We sat had chips and salsa with a drink. This is a indoor and outdoor restaurant.  After here continued walking and stopped at Billy Bob's Honky Tonk. This is one big bar! Got a drink and walked around looking at celebrity hand prints. Has 3 or 4 bars in it 2 stages and dance floors. Martha and Pete truly showed me around town and made me feel at home! Love you guys! Posted a few pictures from yesterday and also from today. Arrived in Dallas around noon today. Pete and Martha were both home waiting for me. After talking for a bit they took me for a drive into downtown Dallas! This was my first visit here. Took me to were President Kennedy was shot. Remember seeing the motorcade driving down the road and seeing him get shot! There's marking on the road showing the first and second shots. Seeing the building and the window where Oswald shot him from was surreal. Then the grassy knoll! One of our greatest Presidents was shot and killed here!! Martha and Pete had a nice dinner and Barb, Richard there granddaughter.  There son Adam and wife Lindsey were here. Great time with family! Will post pictures tomorrow. Goodnight God Bless

Drove to Mariana and Eli to spend the night. They took me out to a nice dinner with the family. Still enjoy getting kids in trouble. After dinner came back home and talked for awhile and gave the kids a hard time. Took a shower and finished mapping out tomorrow's drive. Look to get to Little Rock ARKANSAS and spend the night. Hope to arrive early and maybe get a few miles of riding in. Arrive Dallas on Tuesday. Calling it a night . Good night God Bless

Arrived in Indiana safe and sound! Enjoyed a great day yesterday with family and friends watching Ohio State Football. What a game!! Mark,Jill,Tony,Krista,Alyssa,Drew,Jojo. Matt and Geoff. Thanks for a great day!

Heading to Columbus to visit family then on to Indiana for the night!  Slowly working to California to bicycle the coast.

November 20th, Getting ready to start a new journey! Will be heading to California to ride the California Coast on the 26th of November.i have missed riding since I finished in July! I will be driving out and taking a small pop up camper. Plan on camping riding south one day and back to campground then riding north the next day and back to campground. Move campground to the north then start over again to ride as much of the Coast as I can. Have a lot of old friends from my childhood that I plan on seeing on this journey. Never thought that after my cross country ride that I would miss riding but I truly do! So I will be blogging again to help me keep track of my journey of life!
